HSE Engineer

The HSE Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, health, and environmental standards within the company meet and exceed all regulatory and internal requirements. This includes shaping and enforcing HSE policies, driving continuous improvement in safety practices, and maintaining a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide HSE orientation to employees and visitors, ensuring they understand the company's safety protocols and procedures.
- Conduct monthly HSE communication sessions to keep employees informed about safety-related matters and best practices.
- Prepare compliance and activity reports for operational management, highlighting areas of improvement and successes.
- Inform management of new or conflicting legislative matters impacting the facility, ensuring the company remains compliant with all regulations.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement effective HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date and relevant.
- Support departmental managers and supervisors in all aspects of safety and environmental issues, providing guidance and expertise as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain necessary records, including accident reports and safety audits.
- Perform regular HSE audits and coordinate company-wide HSE initiatives, such as ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certifications.
- Investigate accidents, report findings, and implement lessons learned, ensuring the company learns from its mistakes and improves its safety record.
- Train employees on safety policies, procedures, and regulations, ensuring they have the knowledge and skills needed to perform their jobs safely.
- Ensure the implementation of emergency response systems, safety meetings, and drills, ensuring the company is prepared for any situation.
- Manage safety statistics reporting and track HSE performance, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating successes.
- Oversee the maintenance and inspection of company vehicles and safety equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
- Maintain medical, vaccination, and PPE records, liaising with HR as needed to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Attend client HSE meetings and represent the company in external audits, demonstrating the company's commitment to safety and environmental responsibility.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Petroleum Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of HSE experience, preferably in oil and gas operations.
- Proficient in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OSHA 18001 standards.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently with a strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office, hazard analysis, risk assessment, and internal auditing.
- NEBOSH certification and first aid training are highly preferred.
- Advanced customer focus and teamwork.
- Proficient accountability and communication skills.
- Proficient in leading and developing people, strategic thinking, and results orientation.
- Proficient knowledge of facility and equipment maintenance, with a developing understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering.
- Work Location: Primarily field-based with regular visits to the yard and operational sites.
- Working Days Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
