Energy Commodities Risk Specialist

We are seeking an Energy Commodities Risk Specialist to join our Risk Management & Control team within the Energy Management business unit at Galp. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commodity markets, risk management models, and trading operations.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, manage, oversee, and mitigate commodity trading risks and opportunities.
- Assist in building and maintaining risk management models and policies.
- Monitor and report risk management limits to senior management.
- Provide independent analysis and review of new business proposals.
- Understand day-to-day drivers of price volatility and their impact on trading portfolios.
Applicants should have a degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Science, or Engineering, or relevant work experience in the energy trading industry. Strong knowledge of trading, operations, risk, compliance, and front-to-back business processes is essential. GARP certification (FRM) is preferred, along with experience with ETRM systems.
We value candidates with a scientific mindset, good judgment, and strong communication skills. Fluency in English and Portuguese is required.
