Job Title: Data Scientist II - WebXT | Microsoft

The Bing Metrics and Insights team is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to drive user and engagement growth strategies with data. As a key member of the team, you will combine your data science expertise with business and engineering knowledge to provide insights that build better products for our customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Extract actionable insights from petabytes of data through data analysis and tell a story through data visualization that will drive enhancement and development of Bing.
  • Drive data-driven ideation for Bing user and volume growth initiatives.
  • Drive impact analysis for features critical to agile course correction and business investments.
  • Define and track key org-level success metrics for impact and drive reliable processes to track contributions from individual feature initiatives across the product lifecycle against set goals.
  • Articulate insights, storyboard with data and visualization to communicate and influence leadership and other key decision-makers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Statistics, or another quant-focused field.
  • Relevant years of professional experience working in Data Science and analytics.
  • Relevant years of experience with metric design, exploratory data analysis, predictive analytics, machine learning for data mining, clustering, A/B testing, and other areas of data science and statistics.
  • Relevant years of experience working with large data sets or doing large-scale quantitative analysis.
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting required.
  • Proficiency in using one or more programming or scripting languages like Python, R, C# to work with data required.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate insights to senior management and feature teams to drive actions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Kibana, etc.
  • Familiarity with search engines and online services.
  • A willingness to learn, share, and improve.
