Job Description
- As a skilled backend engineer, you will play a significant role in one of our agile Scrum teams to develop, enhance, and maintain our product solutions for the aviation industry.
- You will participate from inception through testing, implementation, and support using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology.
- Your responsibilities will include creating API interfaces and business services for aeronautical applications.
- You will also provide guidance to Junior Developers, prepare development tasks/tickets, conduct code reviews, and pair programming.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience as a self-motivated engineer with experience using Kafka, Java, Spring/Quarkus, and related technologies.
- Extensive experience with Microservices, Event-Sourcing, open-source data solutions, and cloud-native applications.
- Subject matter expertise in infrastructure/hardware/software/database middleware stack.
- Engineering experience in Kafka/Confluent and knowledge of Kafka APIs.
- Relevant knowledge of best practices related to security, performance, and disaster recovery.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary of €90,000 - €110,000 per year, depending on your level of experience. You will also enjoy a range of benefits, including:
- A full-time contract with flexible working hours.
- 30 days of annual leave.
- A 6-month probation period.

Location and Relocation
The position is based in Friedrichshafen, Germany, a beautiful four-country region on Lake Constance, bordering Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. We offer assistance with relocation and a job bike.
