Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Lead Category Buyer to join our team at Pod Talent. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for executing the sourcing strategy for the flexibles category, covering sub-categories such as paper, plastic, film, aluminium foil, lining, rollstock, and bags.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sourcing strategy to ensure a proactive and compliant sourcing process.
  • Manage a spend of approximately €40M, leading engagements with key suppliers and implementing dual sourcing where possible to ensure supply chain resilience and reduce supply disruptions.
  • Cover Europe with a primary focus on Sub-Saharan Africa, working with key stakeholders in the region to improve buy-in and collaboration, ensuring compliance across spending decisions.
  • Lead sourcing projects across local and regional sites, navigating geopolitical and commodity market challenges.
Requirements
  • Prior experience sourcing across the flexibles packaging category, with a track record of delivering savings.
  • Strong end-to-end strategic sourcing experience, with the ability to showcase examples of dual sourcing and excellent SRM.
  • Robust stakeholder management skills, with the ability to ensure compliance through category collaboration and improving stakeholder engagement.
  • Prior sourcing experience in the Sub-Saharan Africa region would be a significant advantage.
  • Proactive mindset and a self-starter mentality, with the ability to anticipate market and functional challenges.
