The CRG is an international biomedical research institute of excellence that brings together scientists from various disciplines to tackle complex biological questions. Job Responsibilities
  • Analyze historical genome-wide association studies (GWAS) data to identify sex-differential effects, heritabilities, and pleiotropies across a range of human diseases and anthropometric traits.
  • Work with large databases such as EGA, dbGaP, and ad-hoc consortia to extract relevant information and insights.
  • Develop and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to analyze genomic data and identify patterns.
  • Collaborate with researchers from diverse backgrounds to design and execute experiments, collect and analyze data, and interpret results.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in life sciences and a MSc in bioinformatics or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in working with large genomic datasets and bioinformatics tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Perl.
  • Experience with statistical tools and software, such as PLINK, GCTA, or other GWAS analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of working with large-scale genomic databases like EGA, dbGaP, or similar repositories.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of €25,000 - €35,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
