Canonical is seeking an experienced developer with a proven track record in Python and/or Go to join our Observability team.
Key Responsibilities- Develop a cloud-native monitoring stack that composes best-in-class open-source monitoring tools.
- Collaborate with a globally distributed team to design and implement a scalable and resilient monitoring solution.
- Work with multiple data sources at various levels of the architecture to contextualize collected telemetry and insights delivered to end-users.
- Contribute to the development of high-quality code and participate in code reviews.
- Attend conferences to represent Canonical and the Charmed Observability Stack.
- Proven understanding of the importance of observability and monitoring for keeping software running smoothly.
- Strong working knowledge of modern monitoring technologies like Prometheus, Alertmanager, Grafana, Loki, Mimir, etc.
- Skilled Python developer with a track record in open source.
- Working knowledge of Go.
- Proven experience deploying, configuring, and using Kubernetes.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools.
- Interest and experience with two or more of the following: Ubuntu Linux, container images, Debian packaging, snap, distributed systems.
