Starion Group is seeking a skilled Space Data Archivist to join our team in Madrid, Spain. As a key member of our international group, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of the Science Archives at the ESDC (ESAC Science Data Centre) for various space missions.
About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, operating, and maintaining various subsystems of the ESDC Science Archives and Virtual Observatory (VO). This includes data ingestion and metadata extraction systems, archive applications servers and middle tier services, Web applications, data distribution systems, interoperability systems, and administration services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, operate, and maintain ESDC Science Archives and VO subsystems
- Assist in preparing and maintaining essential documentation in accordance with engineering standards
- Engage in working groups, workshops, conferences, and meetings focused on discussing science archives and virtual observatory standards and practices
- Provide technical support to archives and VO services usage
- Interact with the broader international community of astronomers and users through workshops and the helpdesk
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have a Master's degree in a relevant field, with at least 4 years of proven experience. You should be familiar with Web technologies, relational databases, DB management software, and competent in SQL and XML.
Estimated Salary: €65,000 - €80,000 per year, depending on your level of experience and qualifications. Starion Group offers a competitive benefits package, including health insurance, pension plan, and professional development opportunities.
