Proteomics Technician

The Institut Josep Carreras (IJC) is seeking a highly skilled Proteomics Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Proteomics Unit, you will be responsible for providing technical support to internal and external users, designing and maintaining service documentation, and managing site preparation and service contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert technical support for ongoing proteomics services.
• Design and create service documentation and training materials.
• Manage site preparation, service contracts, and service-related communications.
• Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and case records.
• Perform quality control, inventory maintenance, and prepare service quotations.
• Execute protein extraction, digestion, and quantification using techniques like gel digestion, liquid digestion, and FASP digestion.
• Conduct PTMs enrichment and labeling peptides using the iTRAQ/TMT approach.
• Assist in day-to-day operations for proteomics and peptidomics analysis.
• Troubleshoot problems and support method development.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and manage biohazardous/chemical waste disposal.

Requirements:

• Technician, Engineer, B.Sc., M.Sc., or Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Analytical Sciences, Biochemistry, or related fields.
• Experience in mass spectrometry and biomedical/chemical research.
• Experience in a Proteomics Unit related to biomedical research (min. 1 year).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication and people skills for effectively working with team members, researchers, and external collaborators.
• Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and office automation tools.
