**About the Position**

At the Quantum Flagship, we are inviting applications for PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in experimental quantum optics to work on constructing a quantum optical neural network for combinatorial optimization.

**Requirements**

  • PhD or equivalent degree in physics or related field (for postdocs) or BS or MS degree in physics or related field (for PhD students)
  • Demonstrable excellence in free-space experimental optics
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing for publication and presenting research proposals and results
  • Ability to manage own academic research and associated activities
  • Expertise in neural networks and machine learning, optical and computational imaging, analogue electronics and circuit design (for postdocs); good knowledge of optics and quantum mechanics, expertise in neural networks and machine learning (for PhD students)

**Salary & Location**

The estimated salary is around $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. The position is located at the University of Vigo in Spain.
