The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts seeks a highly experienced and accomplished individual to serve as the Dean of the School of Drama. This is a unique opportunity to lead and shape the academic development of the School, while contributing to the Academy's strategic vision.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record in drama education, with expertise in practice-as-research and a proven ability to lead and manage change. They will be responsible for the strategic leadership of the School, as well as its academic, artistic, and operational management.
The Dean will work closely with senior staff to promote innovative developments in the delivery of performing arts education, with a focus on interdisciplinary collaboration, arts technology, and original creativity. They will also play a key role in developing local, regional, and international partnerships in the field of drama education.
The ideal candidate will have a strong vision for the School and its future development, alongside the Academy's other schools and in line with the Academy's strategic vision. They will be a highly effective communicator and team player, with a strong ability to build productive partnerships with tertiary institutions, industry, and community groups.
The appointment will be on a four-year contract, with a gratuity payment of up to 15% of the total basic salary earned during the contract period. Fringe benefits include leave, medical, and dental benefits.
