Job Summary

Wood is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Technical Safety Engineer to join our team in Madrid. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical knowledge, with experience in conducting Process Hazard Analysis studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL as a facilitator.

The ideal candidate will have a BSc. degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field, with proven experience in Oil & Gas projects. Knowledge of THSE software such as Pipenet, PHAST, PHA works, Flaresim, or equivalent will be an advantage.

The responsibilities of this role include carrying out engineering activities as directed by the Lead Technical Safety Engineer, designing Fire Fighting systems, participating in technical safety reviews, and reviewing technical safety studies. The successful candidate will be highly organized, resourceful, and proactive, with excellent command of Spanish and English languages.

Key Responsibilities

Carrying out engineering activities as directed by the Lead Technical Safety Engineer
Designing Fire Fighting systems, including fire water demand, Fire Fighting P&IDs, fire water pumps, tanks, etc.
Participating in technical safety reviews, including HAZID, HAZOP, Bow-Tie, SIL, LOPA, Plot Plan review, 3D Model review
Reviewing technical safety studies, including QRA, Dispersion and Flare Radiation studies
Producing and reviewing specifications, data sheets, schedules, study reports, and design calculations

Requirements

BSc. degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field
Proven experience in Oil & Gas projects
Experience conducting Process Hazard Analysis studies such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL as a facilitator
Knowledge of THSE software such as Pipenet, PHAST, PHA works, Flaresim, or equivalent
Excellent command of Spanish and English languages
Holding a valid permit to live and work in Spain is required
