About the Role

A Laboratory Technician at Top International Oil is responsible for conducting and reporting analyses of various petroleum products, adhering to the latest ASTM, IP, and UOP standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate tests and maintain precise records
  • Conduct lab tests on intermediate and finished petroleum products as per the laboratory schedule
  • Ensure analyses are conducted under the guidance of the latest ASTM, IP, and UOP standards
  • Draw and analyze samples from various process units, streams, and tank farms as required by refinery operations
  • Complete training records for newly operated laboratory equipment
  • Maintain calibration records of laboratory equipment as per SOP
  • Order and maintain inventory of all lab and chemical consumables
  • Issue fuel quality certificates to clients
  • Maintain good housekeeping and tidiness in lab premises
  • Ensure all safety and environmental training is provided and signed off in training records
  • Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly lab reports are complete, accurate, and submitted on time to designated personnel

Qualifications and Skills

  • M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry Chemical Technology
  • High school diploma or associate degree in Chemical Technology (preferred)
  • Laboratory experience in Oil Gas / Petrochemicals industries
  • Highly observant and analytical
  • Detail-oriented
  • Proficient with hand tools
  • Ability to understand and apply basic mathematical skills
  • Experience with various oil/gas testing techniques (specific gravity, distillation, pour point, flash point, BSW, density, viscosity, water salinity, H2S, RVP)

Working Conditions

  • Working Days: Rotation (6x3)
  • Location: Jalu - Libya
