Senior IT Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our technical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the 24/7 availability of our systems.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure system availability and provide cross-departmental assurance of required service quality.
- Plan, deploy, and test new releases within the system architecture and customize systems in coordination with customers or application developers.
- Analyze existing systems for performance, utilization, and degree of utilization, and advise customers or application developers on cost optimization, tuning potentials, and performance effects.
- Develop and implement backup and restart concepts, as well as procedures and standards for data security and privacy.
- Assign and manage system access rights, automate operations, and ensure up-to-date documentation of assigned systems and system components.
- Administrate Network Installation Management (NIM) tool and Hardware Management Console (HMC) for IBM Power-Server.
- Manage firmware patches, plan, deploy, and test system migrations within the system architecture, and develop and implement system monitoring and Unix system-programming.
- Support internal and external audits and communicate with external service providers.
We are looking for a candidate with a degree in computer science or a comparable subject, or on-the-job knowledge and experience. Practical experience in IT service management (ITIL) is also required.
You should have a pronounced ability to work in international teams, be quick on the uptake, and have the ability to understand complex contexts and process insights gained.
Very good spoken and written German and English language skills are essential, as well as willingness to be on call (7&24) and to travel.
A high level of initiative and a strong sense of responsibility are also required, as well as high customer and service orientation and safe and attentive behavior towards customers.
