Compliance Officer

As a Compliance Officer at Bird, you will play a vital role in ensuring our services, products, and practices meet the compliance expectations of our customers and adhere to relevant standards and regulations.

• Develop and ensure ongoing compliance with IMS requirements
• Build and maintain internal controls framework designed for SOC 2 requirements
• Be the go-to individual for all questions about compliance domains from colleagues, customers, auditors, and regulators
• Work closely with colleagues on customer compliance questionnaires and assessment
• Participate in the development, planning, and implementation of compliance projects
• Proactively review management systems' processes and identify opportunities for improvement
• Assist in the development of procedures and related compliance guidelines
• Review and continuously improve compliance policies and procedures
• Draft periodic reports and analyses for the Management Team

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Officer with a strong understanding of management systems and control framework implementation. The ideal candidate will have:

• 3-5 years of relevant work experience in compliance or an equivalent position
• A good understanding of management systems and control framework implementation and their maintenance (ISO 27001 family, SOC2, ISO 22301)
• Ability to implement and critically review policies, procedures, standards, and controls in line with regulations and current compliance standards
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Exceptional ownership and accountability, with a proven track record of independently driving projects to completion
• Strong problem-solving capabilities with a self-starter mentality
• Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills, with demonstrated ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics
