Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Modeler to join our dynamic Data Engineering & Cloud team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data modeling, database design, and data architecture.
Key Responsibilities- Data Modeling: Design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to meet the needs of business processes and technical requirements.
- Database Design: Work closely with database administrators, data engineers, and software developers to implement data models into physical databases.
- Data Integration: Collaborate with data engineers and ETL developers to ensure seamless data integration from various sources into the data warehouse.
- Data Architecture: Develop and maintain data architecture standards, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reusability across data models.
- Metadata Management: Document data models and maintain metadata repositories to ensure data governance and easy data discovery.
- Data Quality: Work with data governance teams to implement data quality rules and ensure high data accuracy and consistency.
- Performance Tuning: Optimize database performance by refining data models, indexing strategies, and query performance.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with business stakeholders, analysts, and other technical teams to understand data requirements and provide solutions that meet business needs.
- Technology Evaluation: Stay up to date with the latest trends and tools in data modeling, database management, and data architecture to recommend best practices and innovative solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data modeling, database design, and data architecture.
- Proven experience with Data Vault and Kimball modeling.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing solutions, data lakes, and big data technologies.
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and metadata management practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
