About the Role
This position is part of the START TECH Program, a comprehensive initiative aimed at providing students with a hands-on experience in software development. The program is designed to foster growth, learning, and career development, while potentially leading to a future with Roche.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product and UX teams to define product deliverables and ensure alignment with company goals.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the Detailed System design and workflows within the application, leveraging expertise in software development practices and testing fundamentals.
- Write maintainable, reliable, reusable, secure, and performant code, utilizing software development methodologies and best practices.
- Participate in design and code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to company standards.
- Utilize software development practices and testing fundamentals, including integration testing against APIs, client libraries, and UI, to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
Requirements
- Recent graduate (max 3 years after graduation) students majoring in engineering, computer science, or related discipline.
- Software development experience with either Java, Swift, SwiftUI, C++, or Kotlin.
- Understanding of how to work with remote data via REST APIs.
- Solid understanding of the Android or iOS platform.
- High-level knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies.
- Understanding of the full mobile development lifecycle - design principles, implement, test, release, monitor, and maintain.
- Big appetite to learn and improve Android / iOS skills.
- Quick learner with the ability to understand complex data models and workflows.
Additional Qualifications
- Student organization and/or study abroad experiences are a plus.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
