About the Role:

The Global Immigration Counsel will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and support to Deel's clients on immigration-related matters. This includes drafting, reviewing, and editing immigration petitions, applications, and other legal documents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Immigration Petitions and Applications: Draft, review, and edit immigration petitions, applications, and other legal documents to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  2. Client Support: Provide support to clients on immigration-related questions or concerns through various communication channels.
  3. Legal Strategy: Offer industry-leading experience to clients by providing legal support and strategy from the initial kick-off call through petition filing.
  4. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure and maintain compliance in accordance with relevant immigration laws and regulations in assigned countries.
  5. Dispute Resolution: Handle complex immigration-related disputes and manage proceedings with immigration authorities.
  6. Product Planning: Contribute to immigration product planning and scoping.
  7. Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement immigration policies and procedures that align with the organization's goals.
  8. Research and Insights: Conduct legal research and provide strategic insights on immigration issues.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4-7 years of immigration law experience, with at least 2-3 years as a Junior Legal Counsel or similar roles.
  • Strong knowledge of immigration laws and regulations in multiple countries.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
