Job Summary:

As the Head of PMO, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of project management policies and work instructions, ensuring the project portfolio is managed consistently, and developing processes based on industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Contribute to the implementation of continuous improvements for the project execution strategy, aligning with Business Unit (BU) and Local Business Unit (LBU) business strategies.
  • Project Portfolio: Ensure the project portfolio is managed consistently, based on best practices and internal policies.
  • Instructions and Guidelines: Lead the PMO team and ensure internal policies, directives, instructions, and guidelines are followed. Develop and continuously improve respective processes based on industry best practices.
  • Budget, Sales, and Operations Planning: Participate in Bid/Sales Phase, estimating and resource planning.
  • Project Execution and Control: Oversee project management activities at the portfolio level through project reviews with the management team and Project Managers. Take an active role in resolving escalated issues and oversee project closure for all projects in the portfolio.
  • Contract and Claims: Oversee the proper application of contract and claim management methods in accordance with internal policies and contractual agreements.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders of the PMO. Serve as an escalation point for individual and systemic project management issues.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Reinforce and maintain a culture of Health & Safety in all project operations.
  • People Leadership and Development: Lead the PMO team to establish and enforce an effective project management approach to achieve both project and organizational goals. Develop project organization, jointly with the management team and Project Managers. Plan, assign, and manage project resources based on competencies, project fit, and availability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with a strong technical background (project management qualifications are a plus).
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of proven experience in project management.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver projects in line with cost, quality, and schedule requirements.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines and excellent collaboration with cross-functional & cross-cultural teams.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in project deliverables.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks & challenges.
  • Strong communication skills.
