About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineering Manager (DevOps) to lead and manage our Platform Engineering team. This role will oversee the development and operation of tools and processes needed to deploy, manage, and monitor applications in both on-premise and cloud-based environments.

Responsibilities
  • Enable DevOps principles, improve automation processes, and ensure smooth and efficient operation of deployment pipelines.
  • Lead and manage a team of Platform (DevOps) engineers, ensuring they meet and exceed company expectations.
  • Plan and organize team's work, ensuring deadlines are met and projects and OKRs are accomplished.
  • Define and implement DevOps best practices and strategies, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
  • Represent the team, providing advice and knowledge for planning critical changes, migrations, etc., and ensuring resources are granted when needed.
Requirements
  • Experience within the Platform engineering/Devops sector leading teams of Platform staff or having worked in a similar management-related role.
  • Demonstrated experience on DevOps culture and methodologies.
  • Understanding of systems at a whole picture level, able to explain and support technical decisions representing the engineering team with stakeholders and non-technical people.
  • Experience working with Kubernetes on high-load systems, familiar with features such as Service Mesh, OpenPolicy agents, observability tooling, and provisioning systems like Ansible or Terraform.
  • Familiarity with public and private clouds: Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, OpenStack, VMWare.
  • A deep understanding of Continuous Integration and Deployment concepts and tools.
  • Knowledge of database technologies, relational and NoSQL, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, MongoDB.
  • Basic programming know-how, including an understanding of code and coding concepts, plus advanced knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby).
  • Ability and willingness to contribute to the Technology and Security management group.
  • Ability to set/meet tight project deadlines, work well under pressure, and deliver to strict SLAs.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to diverse audiences.
