Your future role
As a Software Designer (CBTC), you'll be responsible for designing and developing software solutions for our train control signalling system. You'll work closely with our engineering teams to develop subsystem requirements and designs, and ensure that our software meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop software solutions for our train control signalling system
- Work closely with engineering teams to develop subsystem requirements and designs
- Ensure that our software meets the highest standards of quality and reliability
- Implement software design, including unit tests to verify that the software is correct and complete
- Coordinate peer reviews of software development artefacts and participate in peer reviews requested by others
Requirements
- Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other engineering discipline
- 3-5 years' experience developing software, with a preference for the rail transportation industry
- Good knowledge of software development principles
- Good knowledge and experience in software implementation (.NET, Visual Basic, Visual C++, C/C++)
- Good knowledge of object-oriented design
- Experience working with the Windows and Linux operating systems
- Experience in agile software development
- Experience with software development tools such as .NET, VB6, Visual C++, Eclipse, Git, GitLab, Gerrit, DOORS, Jenkins
- Availability to work nightshift and weekends (occasionally)
- Occasional travel required, particularly during the preliminary design and commissioning phase of the project (20-30%)
