Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the construction of advanced manufacturing facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing cost management services to our clients, including estimating, cost planning, tendering, and post-contract cost variances.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cost Estimation and Planning: Develop and present accurate cost plans, including estimating and cost planning for construction projects.
  2. Tendering and Procurement: Manage the tendering process, including producing tender lists, putting together preliminary documents, and analyzing tenders.
  3. Cost Variance Management: Identify and manage post-contract cost variances, referring major changes to the line manager as necessary.
  4. Cost Checking and Valuation: Conduct regular cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  5. Monthly Cost Reporting: Prepare and present monthly post-contract cost reports to clients.
  6. Value Engineering: Contribute to value engineering initiatives, negotiating and agreeing final accounts with clients.
  7. Client Interface: Develop strong relationships with clients and other consultants, providing expert advice and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in construction, industrial, battery, semi-conductors, pharma, and/or manufacturing sectors.
  • Knowledge of MEP and clean/dry rooms is an advantage.
  • Degree qualified in engineering, construction management, or quantity surveying.
  • Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
  • At least 5 years' relevant experience in cost management.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) essential.
  • Fluent Spanish (written and spoken) essential.
