Job Summary

As a Financial Administrator at Value Retail, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial administration. You will work closely with the Senior Accountant and Chief Accountant to manage inter-company charging and reconciliations, including corporate loans. Your responsibilities will also include general accounting duties, such as journal postings, petty cash management, and production of payment runs. You will liaise with budget holders on cost and coding issues and perform ongoing reviews of the purchase order system. Additionally, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the purchase ledger and assist in query, account, and coding resolution, as well as peak period processing support. You will also be responsible for checking and signing off end of month BACS runs and ad-hoc payments, overseeing VAT returns, and preparing and assisting in management inquiries. Your excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize your work will enable you to meet tight and multiple deadlines. You will also be able to work well with all levels across the business and customers, demonstrating a creative and open-minded capability to adapt to a fast-paced environment under pressure. You will be fluent in English and Spanish, and you will have a qualified accountant or similar level of experience. You will also have computer literacy with high proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience in liaising or assisting auditors. You will be able to work as a team and work independently with minimal supervision.
