The Role
Our Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) is responsible for monitoring, investigating, and reporting suspicious activity. As part of this process, we rely on Global Financial Crime Compliance partners to develop and implement automated transaction monitoring rules, reports, and processes designed to identify potentially criminal behavior. The FIU investigates the activity and refers matters to EMEA compliance partners for review and reporting. We also manage risk associated with politically exposed persons, core sanctions, and improper payments through regular screening and internal payment reviews.

Your Responsibilities
You'll work in our Madrid hub to mitigate risk by analyzing financial activity for suspicious patterns and reviewing records. You must be flexible and willing to adapt to changing responsibilities as needed. This role requires comfort reading and reviewing records from EMEA jurisdictions and collaborating with various teams across American Express, including international Market Compliance Officers and project teams.

Requirements and Qualifications
We're looking for someone with research and analytical skills, comfortable working with records from EMEA jurisdictions. You should be able to collaborate with multiple teams and communicate effectively. A successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.

Salary and Benefits
This role offers an estimated annual salary of €55,000 - €65,000 depending on experience.
