Job Summary:

A key role for a Strategic Materials Planner is to translate production plans into mid- and long-term strategies.
  1. Translate production forecasts into actionable medium- and long-term strategies ensuring the timely availability of materials.
  2. Develop Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems that accurately forecast and procure necessary production materials, aligning with overall production plans.
  3. Evaluate and optimize material orders in terms of quantity and timing to minimize stock obsolescence.
  4. Maintain MRP parameters for time and quantity, aggregate cross-category requirements, and address any exceptions according to the production plan and finite scheduling principles.
  5. Collaborate closely with suppliers to perform Rough Cut Capacity Planning, ensuring effective support for production planning at minimal costs.
  6. Support inventory analysis by reviewing current policies, tracking slow-moving items, and monitoring potential obsolescence risks.
  7. Maintain essential manufacturing parameters, identify sourcing opportunities or challenges, and escalate matters as necessary.
  8. Foster ongoing improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing planning efficiency.
