Senior Specialist, Competitive Intelligence Expert

MongoDB is a leading developer data platform that empowers innovators to create, transform, and disrupt industries. As a Senior Specialist, Competitive Intelligence, you will play a critical role in analyzing market trends, customer requirements, and technology innovations to demonstrate the value of MongoDB products and services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data management technologies and the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources into relevant, comprehensible, and actionable insights for different stakeholders. You will work closely with the product management, product marketing, sales, and engineering teams to provide guidance on how to navigate competitive threats and expand MongoDB's product suite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curate and present competitive analysis materials to internal and external audiences, including battlecards, presentations, training, and more.
  • Develop a range of collateral that articulates the value of MongoDB, translating technical capabilities into messages that resonate with diverse audiences.
  • Train internal sales teams and partners on database market dynamics and competitors, enabling them to qualify opportunities and influence required capabilities.
  • Analyze recent wins and losses with sales and customers to identify areas for improvement.
  • Share market intelligence with Product Management, Engineering, and Executive leadership teams to inform product strategy and roadmap.
  • Track competitive trends and develop responses to competitive announcements and breaking market news.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in technology product marketing, product management, or sales roles.
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce stellar writing under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to leverage strategic thinking to synthesize information from multiple sources into relevant, comprehensible, and actionable insights for different stakeholders.
  • Strong technical and commercial acumen, with the ability to modulate content to speak to different internal and external audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in positioning industry-leading products and services.
  • A very low ego-to-talent ratio.
  • BA/BS degree preferred, but relevant experience will be equally considered.
  • Experience in Salesforce reporting and CI-tools such as Klue or Crayon preferred.
