Job Description

RWE Renewables Europe & Australia GmbH, a leading company in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a highly skilled Senior OT Firewall Architect to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Vision and Roadmap: Develop and implement a strategic vision and roadmap for our OT firewalls, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Network Security Architecture: Design and implement network security architecture and best practices for our OT firewalls, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Swamp Management: Responsible for managing vulnerabilities in our firewalls, ensuring that software versions are up-to-date and secure.
  • Software and License Management: Develop and implement mechanisms for managing software versions and licenses in our OT network firewalls.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on OT firewall-related matters.
  • Change Management: Ensure smooth change management and regular review of policies and procedures related to OT firewalls.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, engineering, and OT security, to implement and review firewall standards based on best practices and compliance standards.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage projects to implement standards and processes, ensuring efficient and secure handling of firewall change requests.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of firewall configurations, changes, and incidents, and prepare reports and recommendations as needed.
  • Staying Up-to-Date: Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and regulatory requirements related to OT security, and incorporate relevant insights into product planning.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide high-level support for troubleshooting OT firewalls, utilizing in-depth technical expertise to resolve complex issues.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in firewall administration in the OT or industrial sector.
  • Cybersecurity Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in cybersecurity in the OT or industrial sector.
  • Firewall Certifications: Proven training and certification in at least one major firewall brand.
  • Standard Definition: Proven experience in defining standards for firewalls and network infrastructures.
  • Network Engineering: Proven experience as a network engineer and in defining complex network architectures.
  • Project Leadership: Proven experience in strategic decision-making and leading projects to implement standards and processes, ensuring efficient and secure handling of firewall change requests.
  • OT Network Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of OT network protocols, devices, and systems, as well as security challenges and best practices for their protection.
  • Firewall Technologies: Excellent experience with firewall technologies such as packet filtering, stateful inspection, deep packet inspection, and application control.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and social skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Self-Motivation and Proactivity: Self-motivated, proactive, and customer-oriented, with a passion for delivering high-quality products that solve real-world problems.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail and precision.
  • Project Management Experience: Proven experience in project management in the OT or industrial sector.
  • Decentralized System Integration: Proven experience in integrating decentralized systems with central control centers in the OT or industrial sector.
  • Renewable Energy Experience: Experience with OT for renewable energy is a significant plus.
  • Autonomy and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, even under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Palo Alto Networks Certification: Palo Alto Networks certified, e.g., PCNSA or PCNSE.
