Energy Management Business UnitYou will join our Energy Management Business Unit, which encompasses the supply, trading, and dispatch of oil, biofuels, natural gas, electricity, and environmental products. Our operations aim to maximize the integrated margin and navigate the dynamics and volatility of the energy market.
Your RoleAs a Commodity Risk Manager, you will provide overall risk management models, market risk analysis for new transactions, and establish risk indicators and limits. You will work in a multidisciplinary team with international geographical distribution in Lisbon, Madrid, and Rio de Janeiro.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, manage, oversee, mitigate, and advise commodity trading desks and origination teams on markets, operational, and control opportunities and risks.
- Assist in identifying significant risks within the trading portfolio, ensuring they are transparent to senior management.
- Build, update, and maintain an overall risk management model and policy.
- Provide independent analysis, review, and guidance on New Business Proposals, ensuring an optimal level of risk/return.
- Understand in detail the day-to-day drivers of price volatility and the impacts on trading portfolios.
- Perform VaR back-testing, key variables stress testing, and scenario analysis.
We are looking for a candidate with relevant experience within a Product Control/Market Risk/Middle Office/Risk management environment in a commodity trading company. GARP certification - FRM is preferred. Strong academic credentials with a numeracy-oriented specialization, preferably Finance or quantitative discipline, are required. Advanced knowledge of risk metrics and market data analytics, understanding of the commodity markets, exchanges, and front-to-back business processes, policies, procedures, and controls, and knowledge of ETRM systems are also essential.
