About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Security Engineer to join our team at The Workshop. As a Security Engineer, you will play a crucial role in protecting our infrastructure, applications, and services from security threats.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage security systems across our entire infrastructure, data, and applications.
- Work with networks, applications, and engineering teams to ensure our technology platforms, infrastructure, and systems are hardened and observable.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to product delivery teams on security architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of security solutions.
- Proactively identify security problems and improvements to be made within systems and applications deployment.
- Assist with enforcing security standards, policies, and procedures, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
- Work with vendors and internal stakeholders to provide effective incident resolution.
- Stay abreast of the latest security trends, threats, and technologies, and continuously improve our posture on security.
- Work alongside Customer Service Desk and Software Engineers in response to security incidents and vulnerabilities, assist with conducting root cause analysis and lessons learned.
- Assist with the facilitation of a security training and awareness program for all company employees.
Requirements
- At least 2 years' experience in the security industry working in a technical role.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, security principles, and frameworks such as OWASP, NIST, etc.
- Experience with threat modeling and basic technical risk assessment.
- Experience in developing secure code and implementing secure development lifecycle (SDLC) processes.
- Experience in dealing with security incidents and breaches, and performing incident response and forensics.
- Design and implementation of enterprise security tools including IDS/IPS, Content filtering or SIEM.
- In-depth understanding of network OSI model and web protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS.
- A team player mindset, able to articulate security-related concepts to different levels of the organization.
- Ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment, taking multiple initiatives forward at the same time.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Full English professional proficiency.
