Embedded DSP Engineer Opportunity

Sateliot is seeking a skilled Embedded DSP/SDR Engineer to join its team. As an integral part of the Embedded HW and SW team, you will work collaboratively with experienced engineers to enhance Sateliot's space capabilities and provide cutting-edge NB-IoT NTN services worldwide.

Your primary responsibilities will include designing, implementing, and validating flight software and firmware for our 5G NB–IoT Satellite Payload. You will be responsible for developing, integrating, and optimizing beamforming algorithms for phased array systems in a satellite environment.

You will also integrate existing firmware module implementations into the testing environment, ensuring compatibility with current-gen systems. Additionally, you will model signal processing algorithms in MATLAB based on written specifications and/or existing code, integrate MATLAB reference implementations into the testing environment, and implement and optimize DSP code for respective firmware modules on current-gen DSPs.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and integrate beamforming algorithms for phased array systems in a satellite environment.
• Integrate existing firmware module implementations into the testing environment and ensure compatibility with current-gen systems.
• Model signal processing algorithms in MATLAB based on written specifications and/or existing code.
• Integrate MATLAB reference implementations into the testing environment.
• Implement and optimize DSP code for respective firmware modules on current-gen DSPs.
• Determine, analyze, and evaluate deviations between previous-gen and current-gen implementations, and correct where needed.
• Determine, analyze, and evaluate MIPS and memory consumption of modules, and improve performance where necessary.
• Integrate and debug modules within the actual HW radio chain to ensure seamless operation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience developing and validating SW for COTS FPGA RFSoCs, MPSoCs and Transceivers, is a must.
• Experience with embedded Linux systems.
• Proficient with embedded software programming languages: C/C++.
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
• Experience in the design of on-board software for spacecraft or for critical systems.
• Experience in DSP programming. Familiarity with OFDM signal processing.
• Knowledge of RF domain and one PHY layer standard based on OFDM.
• Experience in satellite communication systems and phased array technology.
• Hands-on experience implementing and validating beamforming algorithms for phased arrays.
• Ability to prototype new features and algorithms in MATLAB or equivalent and demonstrate using simulation tools.
• Experience in setting up and conducting system-level tests in both simulated and real-world environments.
• Experience with AI and ML techniques for edge computing is a plus.
• Familiarity with ECSS standards is a plus.
• Familiarity with 3GPP standards and particular knowledge of NB-IoT NTN requirements is a plus.
• Experience working with GIT repositories is a plus.
• Previous experience in the NewSpace field and/or IoT sector is a plus.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party providers.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of design and testing activities.
• Strong organizational skills to manage deadlines and shifting priorities.
