Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Avionics Systems Engineer to join our Avionics Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for all aspects of the design and development of safety-critical avionics systems, providing support on manufacturing, assembly, and integration in launch vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Flight Safety System Technology Roadmap: Define and execute the technology roadmap and timeline for the Flight Safety System.
  2. Flight Safety System Architecture: Work on the Flight Safety System architecture and apply relevant standard specifications.
  3. System and Component Analysis: Conduct system and component analyses to define Flight Safety System architecture and verify applicable requirements (reliability, single-point failure, FMECA, sneak circuit, Fraticide, maximum predicted environment, EEE piece-parts procurement and derating, etc.).
  4. Interface Management: Manage and maintain all the Flight Safety System interfaces (internal and external).
  5. Component Selection and Procurement: Select relevant components, define custom requirements, and manage the procurement process.
  6. Supplier Collaboration: Work with suppliers to meet cost, programmatic, and technical requirements of external developments and procurement.
  7. Component Design and Development: Define requirements and work with the design team for in-house developed components.
  8. Testing and Qualification: Define functional and environmental test requirements, specifications, test plans, and execute the test campaigns in collaboration with the Testing team to qualify and accept all Flight Safety System components.
  9. Integration and Testing: Integrate Flight Safety System components into the launch vehicle and execute all relevant integrated tests, checkouts, or similar activities.
  10. Documentation and Communication: Create and communicate Flight Safety System relevant documentation with Flight safety authorities.

Requirements:

  1. Education: BSc/MSc in Electrical/Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or similar education.
  2. Experience: Real-life experience in electrical system integration and integrated system testing.
  3. System Analysis: Experience in conducting system analysis such as reliability, single-point failure, FMECA, etc.
  4. Documentation: Experience in elaborating formal documentation.
  5. Test Equipment: Familiarity with the use of test equipment (e.g. logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, function generators, power supplies).
  6. Troubleshooting and Debugging: Real-life hardware troubleshooting and software debugging skills.
  7. Confidentiality: Ability to handle confidential information.
  8. Accountability: Driven to deliver and constantly push the boundaries and take ownership and accountability for your own actions and mistakes.
  9. Communication: Can-do attitude and outstanding communication skills.
  10. Language: Fluent in English and Spanish would be a plus.
