Senior Computational Biologist—Gene Editor Design

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is a leading international biomedical research institute based in Barcelona, Spain, with a diverse team of over 400 scientists from 44 countries.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Computational Biologist to join our AI for protein design group, which focuses on developing novel protein-based gene writers with improved efficacy and safety.
The successful candidate will design and implement machine learning models for the design of gene writer sequences, working closely with our team of experts in deep unsupervised learning and protein design.
Main Responsibilities:
- Design and implement machine learning models for gene writer sequence design
- Collaborate with the team to develop and improve protein design models
- Contribute to the development of new protein functions and gene editing technologies

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual who is passionate about computation and deep learning, and who is eager to contribute to the development of novel protein-based gene writers.
Requirements:
- PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field
- Experience in machine learning, deep learning, and protein design
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with data analysis and visualization
Desirable:
- Experience in protein or enzyme design
- Knowledge of gene editing technologies such as CRISPR-associated nuclease-based tools
