Job Description Summary

Importante Empresa is seeking a highly skilled Offshore Turbine Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Controls team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting the validation of Controls algorithms to meet the functional requirements of various components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop controls algorithms in accordance with specifications and align with the system owners' release process.
  • Collaborate with owners to refine and align requirements towards controls standards.
  • Understand the Controls development workflow and participate in the entire controls feature life cycle.
  • Identify and drive improvements in the process and tools to support efficient requirement, development, and validation workflows.
  • Collaborate across different teams to design and execute multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Interface with Customer Project Leads to analyze the impact of customizations on reliability.
  • Understand field issues, services feedback, and perform impact analysis towards specifications followed by design.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Control Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited College or University.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Controls domain.
  • Good exposure in planning and handling of multiple priorities.
  • Experience in design and/or modeling of controls systems.
  • Experience with new controls algorithm development, implementation, and validation techniques: Software in the Loop (SIL), Hardware in the Loop (HIL).
  • Knowledge of controls-related sensors and actuators.
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional and global environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute activities.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, proven leadership skills, and a positive energy.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to supplier or customer facilities.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Experience with real-time controls design or modeling.
  • Proficient in Matlab/Simulink for the design and validation of controls systems.
  • Experience with GE's MarkVIe or similar PLCs.
