Machine Learning Applied Scientist, Account Integrity Expert

About the Role
Are you a seasoned machine learning expert looking to leverage your skills in risk modeling and algorithmic systems to protect Amazon customers from bad actors? Do you have a passion for working at the forefront of AI and machine learning, tackling complex problems that have a direct impact on customer security and trust?
As a Machine Learning Applied Scientist, Account Integrity, you will play a key role in developing advanced algorithmic systems that integrate cutting-edge techniques like reinforcement learning, large language models, and graph analytics to help manage the trust and safety of millions of customers every day. You will analyze and model terabytes of data, creating sophisticated algorithms that combine RL, LLMs, graph embeddings, and traditional machine learning methods to solve real-world problems.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain risk models that accurately identify and mitigate risk
Evolve enforcement policies to strike the right balance between security and customer trust
Iterate ML risk models and exercise high-judgement decision-making where automation is not possible
Requirements
PhD or Master's degree in CS, CE, ML, or related field with 4+ years of experience
Programming skills in Java, C++, Python, or related language
Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing

The base pay for this position ranges from $136,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $222,200/year in our highest geographic market.
