Job Summary:
We are looking for a talented Mission Analysis and Navigation Lead Engineer to support the design of space missions from a mission engineering point of view. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expertise in mission analysis and navigation, supporting project management, and contributing to the development of new technologies and innovations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the management of projects with institutional and commercial customers in the frame of mission analysis and navigation
- Support the preparation of proposals and commercial actions
- Provide expertise in the domains of mission analysis and navigation
- Play an active role in fostering the consolidation of engineering processes and promoting technology research, innovation, and development actions
Requirements:
- M.Sc. in aerospace engineering
- 3-5 years' experience in the space sector (PhD studies would also be considered)
- Strong technical background in astrodynamics and navigation
- Experience in space projects and proposals preparation
Technical Requirements:
- Classical mechanics theoretical background
- High knowledge of celestial mechanics and astrodynamics
- Knowledge of optimisation and estimation theory and techniques
Desirable Skills:
- Software engineering methods and techniques
- Programming languages: Python, C++, Fortran, Java, Matlab
Language Skills:
- Excellent level of English, spoken as well as written
Personal Skills:
- High motivation
- Initiative and autonomy to solve complex problems
- Responsibility towards the customer and team mates
- Willing to work in groups
