We are seeking a highly skilled RISC-V architect to join our Earth Sciences Department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to develop and optimize high-performance computing applications for climate prediction and change studies. Key duties include identifying applications of interest, characterizing core applications, optimizing domain applications for BSC-designed RISC-V HPC processors, and contributing to enhancing the full HPC stack.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science, telecommunications, physics, or related fields, with excellent development skills and experience with UNIX/LINUX environments. Fluency in English and Spanish is required, along with a mix of technical and soft skills. A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, based on the cost of living in Barcelona, is offered.
This is an open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project duration. Holidays include 23 paid vacation days plus December 24th and 31st per our collective agreement. We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, and support to relocation procedures.
