Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced tax professional to join our team at Dentons. As the Head of Tax, you will be responsible for overseeing various tax practice operations and providing high-caliber tax solutions to our Partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Partner Income Tax and Income Sourcing:
  2. Develop and implement income sourcing policies to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  3. Collaborate with external advisors on local developments and provide support during tax audits to ensure smooth operations.
  4. Manage tax compliance for partners in various countries, including monitoring tax payments and working closely with local teams.
  5. Manage the preparation of K-1 equivalents for US nationals to ensure accurate tax reporting.
  6. Coordination of Europe-Wide Tax Projects:
  7. Implement and oversee post-implementation of transfer pricing policies and documentation, including recharges of fees and costs across offices.
  8. Provide withholding tax support to ensure timely and accurate tax payments.
  9. Offer VAT support to local offices and assist with EDGE implementation to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  10. Ensure compliance with Mandatory Disclosure Rules to avoid any tax-related issues.
  11. Address mobility issues to ensure a seamless tax experience for our partners.
  12. Tax Structuring:
  13. Handle tax structuring for growth and restructuring initiatives to ensure tax efficiency.
  14. Support local and European finance teams, including providing training on tax-related matters.
  15. Tax Compliance and Planning:
  16. Oversee tax compliance for group entities to ensure timely and accurate tax reporting.
  17. Engage in tax planning and tax risk mitigation to ensure our partners' tax obligations are met.
  18. Partner Accounting:
  19. Maintain partner capital and current accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  20. Implement partner distribution policies to ensure fair and timely distributions.
  21. Monitor partner payments and collaborate with the Treasury team on cash flow planning to ensure smooth operations.
  22. Provide support to Management, the Europe Board, and the Europe Compensation Committee on tax-related matters.
  23. Coordinate with the group consolidation team and external auditors to ensure accurate tax reporting.

Requirements:

  1. Adequate professional qualifications to ensure tax compliance and expertise.
  2. Approximately 10 years of professional experience, preferably within the professional services or legal industry, to ensure deep tax knowledge.
  3. Expert-level understanding of relevant tax laws and regulations, with strong knowledge of accounting standards, to ensure accurate tax reporting.
  4. Proven track record of handling tax issues in a European environment to ensure smooth operations.
  5. Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting standards to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  6. Excellent communication skills, strong business relationship-building capabilities, and the ability to handle change with ease to ensure successful collaboration.
  7. Analytical thinking and the ability to navigate within a complex business environment to ensure accurate tax reporting.
