Research Scientist in Computational Neuroscience and Machine Learning Position

Job Summary
Telefónica Innovación Digital is seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist in Computational Neuroscience and Machine Learning to join its Discovery Research lab in Barcelona, Spain. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary team working on cutting-edge research projects that bridge neuroscience and artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct research projects that combine neuroscience and AI techniques, such as brain-computer interfaces.
  • Develop computational models of neural systems using deep learning, reinforcement learning, and/or neuromorphic AI methods inspired by biological neural networks.
  • Plan and execute controlled experiments for data acquisition and subsequent analysis.

Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Computational Neuroscience, Computational Psychology, Physics, or a related field.
  • Strong domain knowledge and prior experience in Machine Learning, with a focus on Deep Learning, Reinforcement Learning, and/or Neuromorphic AI.
  • Some expertise in controlled experimentation methods and neuro-physiological signal processing, as well as user studies and A/B testing.
  • Knowledge of tools and software related to the above areas.
  • Proven track record of strong research output, including publications and patents.
  • Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills.
