We are seeking a highly skilled Junior Systems Engineer to join our Research Infrastructures team within the Operations & Digital Transformation area at i2CAT. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing advanced systems and infrastructure for vehicular communications.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop embedded systems for vehicular communications, including hardware and software components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems and infrastructure for vehicular communications.
- Develop and maintain test equipment and procedures for system validation and verification.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to network and cloud infrastructure.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research trends and technologies in vehicular communications and edge computing.
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering with at least 1 year of experience.
- Hands-on experience with hardware and software development of embedded systems.
- Proven expertise in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python.
- Hands-on experience with Linux and networking troubleshooting.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Knowledge and understanding of networking technologies, Cloud Computing, and edge computing.
- Experience with Robotics Operating System (ROS).
- Knowledge of research trends in vehicular communications.
- Knowledge in protocol stacks for V2X communications: ETSI G5 stacks, IEEE 802.11p, C-V2X and 5G.
- Knowledge in simulation tools for vehicular communications, e.g., Omnet++, SUMO, ns-3, and CARLA.
