About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer to join our team at Amazon, working on the Elastic Block Store (EBS) service. As a key member of our organization, you will design and develop high-performing virtualized storage solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze customer needs and design solutions that meet their requirements
  • Implement and test solutions in various programming languages, including Java, C++, and C#
  • Define metrics and monitoring procedures to ensure software performance and reliability
  • Document software solutions and operational procedures
About the Team

The AWS Elastic Block Store (EBS) organization is a foundational service that provides high-performing virtualized storage for Amazon Web Services. Our team's software sits at the heart of all our customers' disk I/O, making it a critical component of our infrastructure. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with other teams in AWS to build a secure, performant, and reliable system.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
  • 2+ years of design or architecture experience, including object-oriented design
  • 3+ years of programming experience using a modern programming language, including Java, C++, or C#
  • 3+ years of experience using C/C++
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
