Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team at Alight. As a Senior Associate, you will be responsible for independently processing payroll end-to-end, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to agreed-upon KPIs. Your expertise in payroll will be utilized to advise clients on legislative requirements and tasks.
Main Responsibilities- Process payroll end-to-end, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to agreed-upon KPIs.
- Support statutory and year-end reporting, adhering to agreed-upon calendars and KPIs.
- Utilize payroll expertise to advise clients on legislative requirements and tasks.
- Support knowledge transfer and training of apprentices and associates on data management and customer service activities.
- Ensure tickets and calls are responded to within SLA timescales and to a high standard.
- Support system maintenance and testing.
- Liaise and transact with third parties.
- Complete SOC controls on time and with necessary evidence.
- Contribute to root cause analysis to ensure accurate details and feasible preventative measures.
- Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and ensure audience understanding.
- Maintain DWIs to ensure processes are up-to-date and reflective of the service.
- Report system issues and defects correctly, logging tickets with necessary details and evidence.
- Highlight deviations from standard scope of service to the Service Manager.
- Recognize and deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential information.
- Complete time recording accurately and on time.
- Adhere to ALIGHT Security Standards.
- Contribute to team meetings and raise issues immediately to the Service Manager.
- Stay up-to-date with ALIGHT HR announcements and communications.
- Build good relationships with lines of business where appropriate.
- Update internal stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Participate in projects and activities as needed and assigned.
- Strong knowledge of MS Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to support a global and fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal skills.
- Self-motivated and willingness to learn.
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment, as well as independently, while adhering to processes and procedures.
- BA/BS in a business-related field, such as Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience administering payroll or health and welfare/benefits in an HR consulting, HR outsourcing, or corporate environment.
- HRIS knowledge: Workday, SAP, or PeopleSoft knowledge preferred.
