Advanced Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ). This position will be funded by the European Research Council – ERC Proof of Concept project Cyclo-warhead.

Project Overview: The pharmaceutical industry has witnessed significant growth in approved covalent drugs over the past two decades. These drugs often incorporate a chemical warhead that forms reversible or irreversible bonds with nucleophilic amino acid residues. Our project aims to assess the viability of new chemical warheads in discovering novel kinase inhibitors using reagents suitable for late-stage functionalization. In the second part of the project, we will focus on developing novel skeletal editing platforms to impact medicinal chemistry.

• Design and discovery of novel kinase inhibitors with new chemical warheads
• Writing reports, preparation of scientific articles, and presentation of results in group meetings and conferences
• Complete documentation of research results

• PhD in Organic Chemistry
• Proven track record in chemical synthesis, catalysis, and medicinal chemistry
• Good level of written and spoken English
• Strong commitment to scientific excellence

• A 3-year full-time contract
• Remuneration according to individual's qualification/experience: approximately €45,000-€60,000 per year
• Annual salary split in twelve monthly payments
