About the Role
At AVL Iberica, we're seeking an experienced Senior Intellectual Property Strategist to join our team in the powertrain industry. As a key member of our organization, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing our intellectual property strategy, aligning it with our overall business and R&D objectives.

Your Key Responsibilities
• Patent portfolio management: Develop and implement a patent filing strategy, monitor prosecution, review and optimize our portfolio, and manage costs.
• IP risk management and compliance: Coordinate efforts to enforce our patents and defend against infringement claims.
• Collaboration with R&D teams: Provide ongoing training on IP issues, including patent filing processes, IP protection strategies, and the importance of IP in commercializing innovation.
• IP commercialization and licensing: Develop a licensing strategy, establish partnerships and alliances, and conduct market intelligence analysis.
• External relations and networking: Maintain relationships with patent offices, IP authorities, and regulatory bodies to stay informed of IP trends, policy changes, and collaboration opportunities.

Your Profile
• Education: Mechanical Engineering or similar degree.
• Experience in intellectual property management, including patent prosecution, portfolio management, and strategic IP planning.
• Extensive experience working with R&D teams in a corporate environment, preferably in the powertrain industry.
• Thorough knowledge of patent law, patent filing processes, and IP enforcement procedures, both nationally and internationally.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with external partners, patent offices, and legal teams.
• Positive attitude, teamwork, proactivity in solving problems, and capacity for innovation.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
