We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team at Lufthansa Technik AG, a leading company in the aviation industry. This role involves designing and implementing scalable data pipelines using cutting-edge technologies such as Python, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Pub/Sub on the Google Cloud Platform.
About the RoleIn this position, you will be responsible for developing new data pipelines and scaling existing ones to support the growing needs of our customers and use cases. You will work with a variety of technologies, including Python, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Pub/Sub, to process millions of data points every day on the Google Cloud Platform.
You will also play a key role in rolling out new features multiple times a day through fully automated Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines, including code reviews and automated tests. Additionally, you will take responsibility for the full DevOps cycle, leveraging managed cloud services and automation to focus on working on new features and architecture optimizations.
Requirements- A completed degree in computer science or related field
- At least 4 years of experience in data engineering, setting up and operating data pipelines in big data/analytics environments
- At least 2 years of experience with one or more major cloud providers, preferably GCP
- Experience in software development with Python, knowledge of tools such as Jupyter, VS Code, PyCharm, git, virtual environments, CLI
- Knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD, build pipelines, monitoring
- Confident application of DevOps/SRE principles
- Experience with technologies such as Kubernetes/OpenShift, Docker, SQL/NoSQL databases, messaging, Airflow, Apache Beam
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures beneficial
