The Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to join our Photon Harvesting in Plants and Biomolecules group. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be part of a dynamic and international team working on cutting-edge research in ultrafast spectroscopy and molecular dynamics simulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop novel ultrafast multipulse spectroscopic approaches to study the response of proteins involved in plant and animal bioenergetics to changes in environment and structure.
- Collaborate with the group members on exploring the same processes via molecular dynamics simulations.
- Write scientific publications, supervise students, and participate in dissemination at national and international conferences and visits.
- Contribute to the development of a complex ultrafast multipulse spectroscopic approach based on electronic synchronization of multiple laser systems.
- Hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree in physics, chemistry, biophysics, optics, material science, or a related field.
- Have extensive knowledge of biophysics and/or photochemistry.
- Be highly motivated and dynamic, with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
The Photon Harvesting in Plants and Biomolecules group is an international and fast-growing research team established in 2022. We have already secured several postdoctoral fellowships and have a strong network of international collaborations. Our group combines state-of-the-art methods in experimental ultrafast spectroscopy and molecular dynamics simulations to uncover the mechanisms of photoactive systems.
