Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Manager to lead our software development team. As the Head of Software Engineering, you will drive the entire software development cycle, including design, development, integration, and maintenance of software components.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with executive leadership, program management, related disciplines, and mission teams to ensure seamless integration of ground systems with flight operations. Your role will involve collaboration with various teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of software products.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Defining and executing the software development roadmap aligned with strategic goals.
  • Overseeing software architecture, design, development, deployment, and maintenance activities.
  • Managing and mentoring a diverse team of software developers in all aspects of space missions: space infrastructure, ground infrastructure, and user infrastructure.
  • Identifying skill needs within the team and leading hiring efforts to build a cohesive team.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to translate requirements into effective software solutions.
  • Implementing best practices, coding standards, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Ensuring continuous integration, delivery (CI/CD), and automated testing workflows are embedded into the company culture.
  • Defining and implementing robust software infrastructure for high reliability and availability.
  • Adding cybersecurity layers to protect against internal and external threats.
  • Evaluating and adopting new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve products.
  • Implementing space standards for software development, including CCSDS and ECSS where applicable.
