We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Speech and Language Technologies team at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). As a key member of our Language Technologies Unit, you will be responsible for managing a team of ML engineers, data engineers, and computational linguists to develop and implement cutting-edge AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of engineers to design, develop, and deploy AI models and software for speech and language technologies.
- Collaborate with the Speech team leader to drive technical project aspects and ensure successful delivery of results.
- Develop and implement project management strategies to prioritize team tasks and meet deadlines.
- Write technical requirement documents for prototype development and participate in technical meetings with collaborators.
- Represent the speech team in coordination meetings and mentor junior team members.
- Apply for research projects and write research papers to advance the field of speech and language technologies.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Applied Linguistics, or related disciplines.
- At least 2 years of experience in leading engineering teams and 4 years of experience in deep learning frameworks.
- Published papers on deep learning, specifically in speech, and experience in project management and product development.
- Knowledge of version control tools and MLOps best practices.
- Experience in developing speech-to-text models and strong understanding of linguistic concepts.
- Fluency in English and proficiency in Spanish and other European languages is advantageous.
- Full-time contract with a good working environment and competitive salary.
