We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team at Tomtom. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex software systems that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, high-performance software systems using cutting-edge technologies
  • Lead the development of data processing pipelines and platforms that support our autonomous driving systems
  • Provide technical leadership and expertise to the team, driving engineering excellence and best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and develop new interfaces
  • Build and maintain high-quality software applications that meet the needs of our customers
  • Support the hiring process for team vacancies and invest in team and product health

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or 8+ years of equivalent experience in object-oriented programming
  • Proven ability to learn new languages and technologies, and lead others in acquiring new skills
  • Strong computer science and development fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithm design
  • Experience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility trade-offs
  • Experience building scalable, distributed, production software systems with an understanding of design for performance and reliability
  • Strong knowledge of professional software engineering and best practices for the full software development life cycle
