We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our Payments team at Playtomic. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our payments infrastructure, ensuring high performance, consistent and secure transactions.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, product designers, and frontend/mobile engineers, to devise innovative solutions. Your key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining APIs and their services, collaborating with third-party payment gateways, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain APIs and their services, enabling seamless communication between the frontend and backend, and facilitating third-party integrations to enhance the overall functionality of the payments services.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to devise innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with third-party payment gateways to integrate and optimize secure payment processing, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend.
• Maintain a high code quality by continuously optimizing and improving our backend through code reviews, profiling, and implementing best practices and company's standards.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
• Experience with payment gateway integrations and secure transaction processing.
• Proven experience as a Backend Engineer, with familiarity with the whole web stack, including protocols, system architecture, database design, and web server optimization techniques.
• Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining APIs.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing technical challenges.
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions within specified timelines.
