About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Digital Signal Processing Engineer to join our team at Thales Alenia Space. As a key member of our digital communication programs for space applications, you will be responsible for designing and developing digital signal processing algorithms and architectures for communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate customer specifications and perform the flow-down of requirements to VHDL specifications.
  • Generate MATLAB/Simulink models of processing blocks to detail VHDL requirements.
  • Review Design, Development, and Validation Plans for FPGA and C-Microprocessors solutions.
  • Participate in C/FW-HW integration tests to ensure correct implementation of FPGA design.
  • Lead unit design reviews with customers in an international environment.
  • Apply Artificial Intelligence to Space Applications such as image processing and communications optimization.
  • Participate in R&D activities related to new data processing techniques and developments for space applications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent with a strong background in Signal and Systems theory, digital communications, and electronics.
  • Good experience in designing and developing SDR/digital communication architectures and algorithms applied to communication systems.
  • Experience in Digital Signal Processing Design for Up/Down conversions, digital filtering, suppressed/reduced carrier, and spread-spectrum digital modulation/demodulation.
  • Knowledge of FPGA, microprocessors, and System on Chip devices (MPSoC, RFSoC).
  • Proficient in English and Spanish knowledge recommended.
